The Network Registration (NetReg) system provides wired Ethernet access control for the UVM network.
When you plug a device into many wired networks at UVM, you will not immediately get access to UVM's networks or the Internet. The device must be registered with NetReg to be allowed access to the Internet and various services at UVM. Registration involves authenticating with your UVM NetID and associating it with your device's unique network code.
Features
- Works with DHCP, no fancy supplicants or authenticators
- Registers wired devices using just a web browser, your NetID and password
- Devices without a web browser can be entered through a self-service interface
- Registrations expire annually
Get Started
Wired devices with web browsers that are not yet registered will be automatically directed to netreg.uvm.edu/ when attempting to use a NetReg enabled subnetwork regardless of the URL you attempt to use.
If you have a wired device such as a game console or networked printer without a built-in web browser, use your laptop or other networked device to go to go.uvm.edu/playonline to register.
